About myself
Dr. med. Sita von Richthofen
Specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy
Since studying psychology, the human psyche has been the main subject of my professional interest.
After learning about mental illnesses from a psychological perspective, I turned to the medical basics of the brain in order to gain a clear understanding of the nervous system, its psychophysical functions and possible mental abnormalities.
As part of my doctoral thesis on the effects of antidepressants on the nerve growth factor in the central nervous system, I learned a lot about the harmful effects of stress on the brain and psyche. It is therefore important to me to treat stress and its negative influences on mental illnesses with a medical and psychological approach.
My particular interest is treating the effects of extreme stress and trauma on the human psyche.
In recent years, I have specialized in trauma therapy. While working at the MVZ-Falkenried, I had the opportunity to treat a variety of mental disorders using a behavioural and schema therapy approach.
During my years in the psychiatric hospital outpatient clinic and in the emergency service at the Asklepios West Clinic in Hamburg Rissen, I received a broad overview of mental illnesses and now look forward to devoting more time to individual patients.
